| Description |
The NAU8501 is a low power, high quality stereo CODEC designed for portable and general purpose applications. In addition to precision 24-bits stereo ADCs, this device integrates many additional functions to simplify implementation of full audio systems with very low parts count. The NAU8501 includes a low-noise differential stereo microphone input, an additional line level stereo input, and a stereo line level output supporting an analog bypass function with output muting and a wide range volume control.
Advanced on-chip digital signal processing includes a 5-band equalizer, 3-D spatialization, and a mixed-signal Automatic Level Control (ALC/limiter),. The ADC path also includes a parametric notch filter and high pass filters for input signal conditioning, including wind noise reduction. An internal fractional-N PLL can seamlessly support any audio clock rate from 8kHz through 48kHz using any available clock from 8MHz through 33MHz.
The NAU8501 operates with analog supply voltages from 2.5V to 3.6V, and the digital core can operate as low as 1.7V to minimize power. The NAU8501 is specified for operation from -40 ° C to +85 ° C, and is available with full automotive AEC-Q100 & TS16949 qualification. It is packaged in a space-saving 32-lead QFN package.
