Integrated Baseboard Management Controller (iBMC)

The Nuvoton Integrated Baseboard Management Controller (iBMC) family of products provides manageability processor solutions for servers and work stations.

The iBMC is composed of five subsystems:

1. BMC subsystem. Integrated board-level manageability functions such as PWMs, Tachometers, SMBus interfaces, SPI, PECI, GPIOs etc.
2. Graphics. Integrated 2D graphics core targeted for server applications
3. Remote Access. Integrated KVM hardware, USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 for virtual media, keyboard and mouse emulation, and hardware security
4. SuperI/O. Legacy free SuperI/O
5. Persistent Memory. SD Host interface, NAND interface (on expansion bus)

The iBMC is available in four flavors (derivatives) to cover requirements from low end (IPMI 2.0) to rich (Remote Access) manageability.

Preserving the same footprint, the designer can incorporate Nuvoton's iBMC on various platforms, using similar board design and similar software stack. This reduces the overall effort to re-design / re-qualify each platform and significantly improves the time-to-market.
