These power management ICs are used to manage the activation of the power supplies of key components and sub-systems in a computer system, including CPU, DRAM, Graphics, High Speed I/O and USB, according to the ACPI specification. In addition, under-voltage condition (indicating fault on the supply line) is monitored and the main power supply (e.g. ATX) is shut-down to prevent damage to the system. A soft-start feature reduces stress on power supply components and increases product reliability.
NCT3016Y/ NCT3012S is the advanced power control IC which is compliant with European EuP Lot 6 regulation. By implement the products, the system S5 power can be reduce to below 10mW. Total system including switch power supply power consumption can meet not only European CY2010 regulation 1.0 Watt but also CY2013 0.5 Watt requirement.
