W83781G is a hardware monitoring IC for personal computers, server, or microprocessor based systems. W83781G can be used to monitor several critical hardware parameters of the system, such as voltage, fan speed, and temperature, which are very important for a high-end computer system to work stably and properly. W83781G provides both ISA and I²C serial bus interface.
An 8-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) in built inside W83781G. W83781G has 3 external temperature sensor inputs, 7 analog voltage inputs, 3 fan tachometer inputs, and 3 fan speed control outputs. Fan tachometer inputs and fan speed control outputs share the same pins and fan speed control algorithm is ON-OFF. There is also one input pin for case open detection circuits. 1 set of VID pins is provided. System protection mechanism, such as OVT, SMI, beep function, is provided to prevent system from damage when abnormal events occur. The working voltage is 5V, and the package is 48-pin, LQFP. |
