Overview

Nuvoton Technology Corporation was founded in July 2008 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Winbond Electronics Corporation. Winbond carved out its logic product lines as Nuvoton to allow the new company to expand its reach into new markets and work with existing customers and partners to create the products of the future. Nuvoton will continue to build on the strong manufacturing foundation it inherited from Winbond, creating new products and enhancing its current product offering to become an indispensable partner to industry leaders worldwide.

With headquarters in Hsin-Chu, Taiwan, Nuvoton Technology Corporation offers a wide range of integrated circuits in two distinct lines of products: computer ICs and consumer electronics ICs. Our computer IC line includes motherboard I/O controllers, TPM (Trusted Platform Module), controllers for Windows® SideShow™ , manageability ICs, and more. Our consumer IC line of products includes Speech ICs, ChipCorder®, Voice and Telephony ICs, audio CODEC ICs, microcontroller ICs, and many others. Nuvoton has offices in Taiwan, China, Israel, Europe, and the USA.

The Nuvoton Name

“Nuvoton” is phonetically composed of the French word “Nouveau”, which means new, and the Chinese word “Tang”, from the Chinese Tang Dynasty renowned for its technological advancements and prosperity. The name symbolizes the company’s vision to usher in a new era of innovation and prosperity in the Logic IC industry.
