Set-up Connections:
Before starting the ISD-ES1600B-Prog software application, make sure that
the board is plugged into one of the PC’s USB ports and properly
installed. Once the software starts, it will attempt to locate the board,
but if no board is detected, an error message will be displayed. If so,
it will be necessary to restart the software.
If detection of the board is successful, the main control
panel will be displayed. The controls allow selection of the chip device,
sample rate, volume decimation, and audio file to be recorded. However,
the input audio file must be 8 kHz, 16-bit mono PCM.

System Requirements:
The demo board must be connected to a USB port on a PC running Windows
2000 or higher that supports Microsoft’s .NET framework v1.1 or
higher.

Set-up:
Before starting the software application, make sure that the evaluation
board is plugged into one of the PC’s USB ports and properly installed.
Once the software starts, it will attempt to download firmware onto
the evaluation board, but if no board is detected, an error message
will be displayed. If so, it will be necessary to restart the software.
Once the software is running, the main control panel will
appear. To begin evaluating the ChipCorder® part, first apply power
to the chip by pressing the power toggle button (1), then press the
PWRUP button (2) to send a SPI power up command. This evaluation system
uses the ChipCorder®’s SPI interface, and the last step starts
the chip’s power up sequence and resets the chip to its IDLE state.

Pre-Programming a Wave File:
Another option for set recording is the Delayed Record feature. The
wave file format has to be 16bit PCM mono ( 8KHZ to 44 KHz sampling
rate). Checking the SE_REC (9) box, puts the ChipCorder®
into a mode that will wait for a signal at ANAIN before recording. Once
checked, the set address feature is enabled and the device path is setup
for ANAIN (FT) record. At this point the user is prompted to select
an audio file. The address range can be manually entered or the software
can calculate the necessary range to record the entire audio file by
pressing (11). Pressing records begins playback of the specified file
and the record session is triggered automatically.
This
requires the following hardware connections:
- USB connection from the PC to the demo board.
- An Audio connection from the PC to ANAIN on the demo board.
(Usually the Headphone Jack)
Note: Be sure that the volume is turned up all the way.
- Speaker connection to the Demo Board

1.) When complete, the SE REC box will be unchecked:
2.) Press Play to hear the recorded Wave file.
Systems Requirements:
The demo board must be connected to a USB port on a PC running
Windows 2000 or higher that supports Microsoft’s .NET framework
v1.1 or higher. Please down load the latest .NET framework from www.microsoft.com
go to Microsoft .NET Framework Version 1.1 Redistributable Package.
Please also install the SP1 service pack.

Set-up
When the ISD-ES511 program is started, a search of the system is performed
to locate the ISD-ES511 Board. The program then operates in one of two
modes.
Operation without the ISD-ES511 Board:
The indicator in the upper left corner will indicate that a board was
not found and its background color will be yellow. The command buttons
and status indicator will not be functional, but the block diagram and
configuration bits are functional. This will allow the user to quickly
determine specific configuration words for use with the I51XX (I5102,
I5104, I5108 or I5116). See below for operation of the block diagram.

Operation with the ISD-ES511 Board:
The indicator in the upper left corner will indicate that a board
was found and its background color will be red. The red indicates that
the socket on the ISD-ES511 board is powered off. The command buttons
and status indicator will not be functional, but the block diagram and
configuration bits are. After installing an ISD5100 (ISD5104, ISD5106,
ISD5108, ISD5116) device, the socket can be powered up by selecting the
Socket Power command button. Once the socket is powered up, the background
color of the board indicator will turn to green. The command buttons are
now enabled and device operation is allowed. See Device Operation below
for details.
