Nuvoton’s Pro-X Series (PROgrammable EXtended CODEC) supports the FXS telephone line interface optimized for short loop applications up to 4kft. Each device integrates SLCC (Subscriber Line Control Circuit), CODEC as well as DC-to-DC controller functionality on a single piece of silicon. The series includes devices supporting single port FXS and dual port FXS. Every device also includes a comprehensive and user friendly set of signaling capabilities required to supervise and control telephone lines, thus offloading processor overhead and offering designers a user-friendly signal processing environment. The wide variety of clocking speeds and schemes supported allow for system integration into virtually any system with little or no additional logic. An on-chip dual pulse width modulation (PWM) driver allows individual control of the DC-to-DC conversion for each line, optimizing power consumption. Most of all each device delivers optimal system performance at a competitive cost.
